Just to clarify, there are TWO battery recalls, one from a while ago, and one announced today.
The one announced today is located here
https://support.apple.com/ibook_powerbook/batteryexchange/index.html
The previous one is located here
https://depot.info.apple.com/batteryexchange/index.html
Do not confuse the two!!!
So why is the other, older recall now missing from the page! It just makes the Apple site look stupid.

Nice one Jobs. The zune's sharing looks rubbish and he told them that it is. It is also nice to see that the 5th anniversary has come and the ipod is stronger than ever.

Nobody was really expecting this (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=500), remember?
it's really funny to read those posts now. They should be infamous. I wouldn't want to be the one who posted that.

My lovely girlfriend. Any C&C would be greatly appreciated!
Great background, which makes her stand out very well with her dark hair, and the shadow on her left arm. Not quite enough contrast between her right shoulder and the background (maybe dark sleeves would help?). I would have either brought the window in more to make its inclusion appear more deliberate, or excluded it altogether.
She looks to be slightly uncomfortable looking into the sun, but aren't we all?
My only other comment is that you're a lucky man!

While we don't know exactly how the Firmware update was designed, it would appear as though the update will simply ignore symptoms of a SMC short circuit to allow the laptop to continue operating. If this is the case it may degrade a MacBook's ability to detect true over-heat situations.
I agree. This seems a risky way to deal with a hardware defect. My first macbook had RSS, and apple exchanged it for a new one with me. If this one started doing it I'd be very worried - firmware update or no.

This is America, and that person DOES NOT NEED TO JUSTIFY HERSELF TO YOU! If that V10 Excursion ever gets in an accident with your "95+ MPG" car, it will illustrate one very good reason to drive an Excursion, and you will not survive. Even with a five star crash rating, these newer lighter cars are death traps when fitted against large SUVs, these crash ratings do not take into account the advantage created by additional weight. Also, if your considering CO2 as "pollution", are you aware of the fact that only 0.28% of all greenhouse gasses are from human activity ? Not 28%, but 0.28%, the rest is mainly water vapor. With all of the resources that the world is throwing at reducing CO2 emissions we could actually do something useful instead like end world hunger. What we are doing to reduce CO2 is kind of like pissing into the ocean to warm it up, maybe it makes you better but it will not work. Enjoy that "95MPG" golf cart you drive.
Haha, I'll also enjoy my $35/month full coverage and $7/week gas allowance.
I haven't done the research myself so I can't refute your points about greenhouse gases, but I can say that our dependence on foreign oil has caused a multitude of problems in this country and I don't think anyone would argue with that.
Oh and by the way, if you eliminate the V10 Excursion from the equation, there's nothing for my 95MPG vehicle to get in a crash with now is there? We live in a nation of excess and it's shortsighted and narrow-minded people like you that are the reason for these problems being perpetuated throughout generations.

I've always felt that WW2 was justified though the way we ended the war was unfortunate and un-necessary.
I'm also generally in support of intervening to stop genocide/ethnic cleansing.
Unnecessary Wars:
Revolutionary
War 1812
Civil War
Spanish American War
WW1
Korean War
Vietnam War
Desert Storm (Iraq 1.0) maybe necessary but easily avoided
Afghanistan
Iraq War
Interesting list.
I'd assume that you are also not a supporter of the USA's forays south of our border during the last century and a half.
I wonder what Rand thinks about the sale of US military goods to foreign countries? Surely the sale of such, especially to militant countries like Iraq, Libya, Israel, etc, violates his sacrosanct policy of non-intervention.

Thanks for the kind words! I've only been really shooting for a year so I've been trying to get out and shoot as much as possible. I try to post a bunch and get as much criticism as possible to help me improve. It's nice when someone really likes a shot!
That shot is fantastic. outstanding light, nice bokeh, beautiful subject!
Mine for today.
no worries man :) thats good, I've only really been shooting a year and a half but the amount of time I get to shoot is nothing! yeah that's the best thing to do, and posting here is a great way to get critique on your shots! haha well I did!
And thanks :D hope your not just saying that cause I like yours :p
Here is the EXIF data from the photo.
EXIF Summary: 1/3000s f/4.0 ISO160 200mm (35mm eq:401mm)
Camera-Specific Properties:
Equipment Make: OLYMPUS IMAGING CORP.
Camera Model: E-5
Edit: They make some nice lenses for that camera. Nice to see something that didn't turn out to be Nikon of Canon.

thanks, was on my dads computer so I couldn't look easily! cheers for that, interesting.. never really read into that camera, its a supposed 'professional one'.. interesting 35mm equivalent though, weird sensor size?

Forgot to mention this was the first shoot with my new speedlight. Decided to get one rather than upgrade to a fullframe (few more months :) ). Still loving this little Rebel XS.
duuude.. your photos have improved so much! I remember when you first started posting on here I wasn't too keen on your shots (if I'm going to be totally honest) but this is such a major improvement, that is such a damn nice shot! Nice work with the new flash, I really need to get one, shows what messing with light can do! did you bounce the flash off anything? what lens did you use? your getting fantastic shots out of that little camera man, I had one for a year before getting my t2i. Anyway, keep up the good work, your portraiture work is great :)
Olympus Zuiko 50-200mm f/2.8-3.5 at f/4, about 50 yards away (it's a fair amount of crop)
I was knee deep in the water- the lens w/ body combo E-5 is weather sealed.Does well even with a 2x teleconverter, which on Olympus makes 400mm = 800mm in 35mm equivalent.. perfect surf setup imo. Here's one wide open with the t/c, original resolution after crop.

mine for today.. typical trees and sunset but I like it, nice view out of my dads window in Cheshire, UK. Shame about the crop but the foreground was a trampoline and some bushes :p

What's with the focus on 'sold out'? Simply limit your passes well below the projected numbers of participants, and there you go, sold out. It's just a math game and a marketing ploy.
But how many tickets were actually for sale? 3000? 5000? 10,000? Remember that the conference center needs to house all the Apple employees, the contractors, and of course all the booths/rooms.
I would imagine that Apple purposely plans events (timing as well as location) that WILL sell out. Apple doesn't want to hold an event where only 50% of the conference hall is filled.
Selling out in 12 hours may not be all that it's cracked up to be. But in theory if 100% of the attendees are truly developers, I could see a fast sellout.
You and a few other thousand engineers. What hasn't been said is how many tickets were sold. I would be curious to see if Apple limited the amount of tickets the first round to get hype and "additional tickets" will go on sale later this week.
Really? Wow, what's next?
Cupertino:
Apple has announced a reduction in the number of restrooms available in their office buildings. This is seen as a media ploy to drive up demand.
Tin foil hats, necessity or fashion accessory? New at eleven.
But there are larger venues available, so it is certainly possible to limit the number of attendees by choosing a venue that is too small.
But are they ready to make the move to Vegas? Would love to see WWDC move here. :)

How could Wal Mart feel threatened by anything.
They are more powerful than most countries.
the ITMS has been kickin in full swing for years now, and Wal Mart still leads in CD sales, and music distribution by a long shot.
I hope this goes really public and gets exposed through the media, so everyone knows what WM is trying to do.
I would have loved to hear the phone call between Jobs and Lee.

Precisely - see my above post. As I see it, there is still a huge gap in the product line - perhaps not in price or specs, but in fundamental design philosophy. Anyone wanting an Apple desktop is forced to buy an AIO. For many people that's fine, they don't care, perhaps they even welcome it or prefer it, but for many others it's simply not an attractive option.
Nicely said. I fully agree.

How do you know that you are going to get a new one and not a refurbished one. And what old macbooks are you talking about, they didnt release any new ones yet. Thanks for the help.
I am talking about the CD macbook. It is known that they put old/previous models on the refurb site. Ask anyone on here.
Why don't you just look at the 'refurb' section of the site? Someone also mentioned that just prior to the release of the CD MBP on the 24th they put the whole range of CD MBP on the refurb site when there was usually just a small selection.

Well, you are already paying for color-screen, video-playback, photo-playback etc. etc. etc.. They seem to be adding features constantly, yet the price does not go up (more or less).Well, since I never liked, or considered buying, a "regular" iPod you're only half-right... colour-screen is just normal development, I guess, probably not much more expensive than monochrome ones, in large quantity... video and games are still not available on the nanos, and hopefully won't be for a long long while, so that is for the buyers of the "regulars" to pay... and photo was developed for the regular iPods, and even if I don't really need or want it, it probably was fairly cheap, too... :)
If you wanted a barebones iPod, you would always have the ShuffleI have my mini, and if I'm to replace that (and not just get a new battery when the time comes) it will probably be with one of the new nanos, which - even with the added photo-playback - is still fairy basic... ;)
