Today was a dreary, dreary day. I think at some point it rained while I was in the office because when I got home, everything outside was wet! I had to hurry up and take these pictures before it started to torrential downpour again. I really wanted the necklace to be the focus of this outfit. As soon as I saw this necklace at DUO I fell in love with it, and HAD to have it!....So now I have it...haha!

I also love my new structured handbag from New York and Company. It's great because it can be used as a shoulder bag, hand bag, or over-the-shoulder bag!! I love the neutral color. It's perfect for work!

Bayou City Arts Festival

Ensemble:
Dress: Wish Boutique
Sandals: Target
Over-the-Shoulder Bag: NY&Co
Shades: Fendi

Yesterday was the perfect day to attend an arts festival. At least here in Houston.  It was definitely a HOT one yesterday, but still nowhere near what the temperatures will be in July/August! I just purchased this dress last weekend, and thought it was the perfect dress for an Arts Festival. The colors are very festive and artsy.  I had lots of fun walking around and looking at the art with my friends. I can't wait until I own a house, then I can actually buy some of these pieces to display! :-)

Last night, my friend Liz and I went out on Washington Avenue to Ei8ht Lounge. I like this place. There's a nice outdoor section downstairs and upstairs, and they recently modified the inside so there's more "dancing" space. It's been a long time since I've been to Ei8ht, so it was nice to check it out.  My favorite part about this lounge is their backdrop/redcarpet section upon entering. It's fun to take pictures there and pretend to be famous! haha

Houston Rockets Play Day

Tonight, I was fortunate enough to receive tickets to the Houston Rocket's Season Ticket Holders Play Day. Where the players come out and play games with the fans, and we get to take pictures, eat and drink. It was a lot of fun.  I went with 3 guys to the event, and they were going crazy shooting hoops on the court! I had a great time, and now I'm definitely a Houston Rockets fan. I even have an athlete crush now. He's definitely younger than me, but age is just a number when it's just a crush.  Say hello to Patrick Patterson...Some eye candy there! He's the one in my picture below! :-)

Me on the court! It's an awesome feeling being able to stand/play on the same court as famous athletes!

The Boys Playin' Ball

Okay, okay, back to my outfit. Well the rockets colors are red and white, and I don't own any "Rockets" paraphenalia. So I decided I would show spirit by wearing something red.  Unfortunately the only things red I had cleaned were this over-the-top sparkly tank top and a few red button-downs for work.  I opted for the tank and toned it down by throwing a black lace tank over it.  The lace tank muted the sequins, but still allowed one to see the color red :-). Typically I would have worn a  pair of heels with this outfit, but since there were "games" and "court-shooting" involved, I figured I'd better stick with the basic, trusty, sneaker! I tried to wear the most canvas-esk pair I owned to not take away from my sparkly upper-half.

Today I was definitely feelin the color yellow. For work I had on a yellow top and a khaki skirt, but the skirt was too wrinkled by the end of the day for me to take pictures, and I was honestly too lazy to iron it for photos. Luckily, I had to change for another event anyway. Tonight I met up with Women in Wardrobe at Hearsay Lounge in the Market Square Area of Downtown Houston. It was a great event to network with other professional women in the area, and the proceeds benefit their parent group Dress for Success Houston.

New Hair Cut

How to dress-up simple, you ask?  Easy! This rather plain, but cute t-shirt dress doesn't really do much on it's own, but paired with a few great accessories (earrings, purse, & shoes) this outfit comes alive.  In my last blog post, Blogger Awards, my number one interesting fact about me, was that I liked to wear wigs.  I was wearing a short wig in my NCAA post, and decided to cut my real hair into a similar style. Why? Because it's Springtime and even when it's long, I only ever wore it in ponytails, or under wigs, so why not just keep it short!? I love my new cut!

Here is a zoom in of my great $8.00 pair of earrings.  I wasn't wearing any foundation, so it's weird that my face looks ORANGE! ahaha. Maybe it was just the flash.
