Someone claim the got 43 mins frame time on the biadv with a core i860 and Linux, same CPU as the higher end iMac. That is the same as my 3Ghz 8 core Mac Pro. You think it is possible?

Yes, but there has been a massive fail rate in IBM Desktar Models (Hitatchi has bought the IBM hard drive division after). I know the problem won't appear again, and that the current Desktar only shares the name with the problematic one, but I prefer to stay away from Hitatchi drives. There are other brands, and they are priced similarly. I'm losing nothing here.

I hope it functions better than the corded Mighty Mouse. I ended up buying a logitech corded mouse instead of the "Mighty" Mouse. It just didn't feel right. I hope this one is better, but on the other hand, it can't be worst than the MouseBT. It has to be one of the worst Mice ever made.

For $2700, you can build an Alienware with RAID HDs, etc. Biggest question for me is...is Apple still underclocking the GPU on the 15" model...??? To me, Apple's MBPs aren't as good as a value as their Mac Pro, but with this update, Apple's "in the ballpark"...and I would get the MBP over the Alienware...assuming Autodesk releases a UB of Maya soon. My two cents...

I used to live in NYC when the technology was just TDMA, it was piss poor then.
AT&T had terrible service then, and the New York State AG wanted to sue them for overselling their service.
In 2005 AT&T was passing out 3G SIMS like raffle tickets in phones that weren't 3G -I need some internal wireless guru to tell if that extra hand-off doesn't make a difference.
Does the 2007 iPhone (2G) having better call performance versus the iPhone 3G?
What percentage of all 3G devices on the AT&T platform is the iPhone 3G?
Is there something wrong in the code for the iPhone's 3G implmentation of the protocol that makes it use more of the network compared to a Blackberry Bold?

I use "VMWare Server" It runs on both Windows and Linux. Here is how it works: First I bring up a console window. THen I "connect" to a physical machine. Either the one I'm using or some other one on the network. Then I can "Power On" a Virtual machine. On power on I see the BIOS counting up memory and then booting off the boot device and finally it loads an OS. What this means, it that you have a set on physical machines and a set of virtual machines and the virtual machines can run on any of the physical machines and can eve be moved around. And all the displays are sent back to you workstation where you can tab between them. Another neat feature is the abilty to "snapshot" a VM. You ckick on "snapshoot" before you do something you might regret say you want to install some spyware thing just to see what it does. OK now you've seen it so you click "restore" and the computer is put back into the state of when it was snapshoted.
VMWare pioneered this whole ideal and has by for the best products. And so of them are free. If you have a Windows or Linux system go get VMware Server right now.

The show hasn't been officially cancelled. Before today, they shut down production for the last 8 episodes for this season. Today, they fired Sheen and said they are unsure if the show will go on. Knowing Hollywood, they'll go on with a replacement. Oddly, Sheen replaced Michael J. Fox on his show when Fox quit and it went on for another 2 or 3 seasons.

Those are companies people don't get attached to. Apple and other tech companies are a much more personal choice, generally. It probably also helps because those people are excited that Apple is making more money, allowing them to deliver more new and innovative products then would be possible with lower cash flow.
I guess I must be old school, I'm a consumer and I think about my wallet before the corporations treasure chest. Apple isn't pumping most of the profits back int the company or paying it out to shareholders. It's sitting in the bank. Or maybe they have something unimaginably huge in mind and I guess that is a possibility.

I am not too keen on this "cartoony" 3D effect Apple seem to be going for.

It really does seems as if the cutesyeness of the iOS is spreading over to OSX.
I'd prefer a clean modern OS with usability first and foremost.
