These white ear budded headphones remind me of the book fahrenheit 451. Soon iPods will now dictate what people read, on top of what people listen to (music, podcasts, audiobook) and what people watch (movies, tv shows).
iPods will rule the world.

Pros...
#1 Album Artwork. No more Google searches.
#2 Gapless playback. Now i can playback my 70 minute prog rock albums as they were intended
Cons...
#1 Movies 640 by 480? No widescreen or animorphic? forget that! I haven't bought a 4x3 movie since 1998
#2 Still can't burn it. I won't buy anything I can't burn an play in a DVD player. iTV could posibly change my mind. We'll see.

So if you are going to be a pirate why bother buying a student version at all?
I agree. Why buy it at all. No need. However, I wouldn't consider someone paying for a student version to be a pirate. There's a legitimate student paying money for the software. It's no business of anyone who ends up using it. The discount is offered to students, a student buys it, case closed.

Apple's approval process aside - he was doing a pretty second rate job.

One thing I really hate about this Zune thing is the amount of free publicity Microsoft has gotten.
For months on end we've been bombarded with Zune-friendly "news" articles calling it an "iPod killer". Even before Microsoft had a name for it, before they had any sort of design for it, while it was still vaporware, the media kept hammering home, "iPod killer" while seeming to drool over the prospect.
There's STILL no actual product on the store shelves.
It's disgusting, really.

Agreed! Macbooks only had the option for glossy.
Makes sense, sort of. Why make it more confusing for consumers? I can understand the non-glossy option for MBPs since some professionals require accurate color, and therefore need matte screens.

Here (http://blog.washingtonpost.com/securityfix/2006/08/hijacking_a_macbook_in_60_seco.html).
I found it, though it was rather tricky. :S
This is shocking how? Who is going to use a third party usb key for wireless when the notebook has it built in? Meaning, yes, it can be done, but the circumstances are almost impossible.
Even then, it's difficult to prove due to things such as Remote Desktop, etc.

My $129 dollar investment in Leopard is going to look like even more of a steal ... :D
Considering that Windows XP was released in Windows Vista correpsonds to Jaguar+Panther+Tiger, which is 3*129=387, which is much closer to the price of Windows Vista ;-)
EDIT: And btw., as some other users noted, the $129 for Mac OS X is the price for an update..

I hope they hold true to the June date. If apple does not announce on their website is this an indication the date might slip?
So will this also be available at the apple store also?

What were the plans with dealing with the millions of other Americans who've lost their jobs in this last recession?
Oh, that's right, there were no plans. All those people were expected to figure it out for themselves.
I'd suggest that those who's careers are based on maintaining our military can file for unemployment and search the want ads just like everybody else.
So your solution to our money problems is to throw more people onto the unemployment dole.
I'm all for cutting the military budget but drastic cuts will hurt more than help.
When did we stop doing sane things in this country?

Check out the link I posted. You can actually design the budget yourself, it is pretty neat.
Cool, I will have to check it out when I am using a computer instead of this iDropper.
Oh, and 5P, you really should try to put out your hair.

I'm getting more confused. In one paragraph is says, He said the technique could be useful in targeting specific people or specific groups of people who are in close proximity to an attacker -- for instance, a cafe that is frequented by executives of a particular company.
Then in another paragraph is says, A computer need not be connected to the Internet to be infected. All that's required is that it have certain wireless devices installed and that those devices be turned on.
And I'm still confused about whether or not the native Airport drivers are affected by this.
Nothing has been cleared up to me. There so many different reports.

Interesting.... and what is your prediction for International (Int) since we won't get the iPad before the end of April ? I also believed that once, but with different date for the iPad release (US vs Int) and knowing that about 50% of the sales are Int, I'm not sure about that anymore. End of April will be a shame for Apple... Friends around me already have there i7 laptop... but of course, they had to pay the ultimate price... being on Windows
May, at the earliest; June ?

iStudentUK, I understand what you are saying and agree with some of it. People do tend to develop their own worldview and then pick and choose external sources (religion, social groups, philosophies, etc.) to support the view they have already decided upon.
However, I can't agree that the Bible is "neutral" or relative in that it can correctly be interpreted in any way someone chooses. The Bible is clear in it's express purpose as God's revelation of himself to mankind. The Bible is judged and interpreted against itself using the literary and textual tools of interpretation that we have available to us.
Like all communication it can only be correctly interpreted in light of the intended meaning of it's original author. This is where faith comes into the process. Followers of Christ hold to the belief that it is God's inspired and inerrant word. The living God is it's author and he inspired men to write within their own historical and literary context to specific audiences at a specific time. All of these contexts become clues that help guide us to His intended meaning. One of many gods staged a coup d'tat in heaven, or so claimed the exiled priests who wanted to assert their authority over their congregations by differentiating themselves from the competition. The only difference between the Hebrews and the other nearby cultures is that their priests claimed that the chief god they all shared had demoted his team to messenger status. In so doing, of course, they also slighted every other religion.

Brilliant.
What do you want me to say that people haven't already voiced?
That The Beatles have received 7 Grammy Awards and 15 Ivor Novello Awards.
That they have been awarded 6 Diamond albums, as well as 24 Multi-Platinum albums, 39 Platinum albums and 45 Gold albums in the United States and in the UK they have 4 Multi-Platinum albums, 4 Platinum albums, 8 Gold albums and 1 Silver album?
The fact that you can just dismiss them is laughable but hey i don't want to upset you anymore than i have.
Oh and stop calling me son.
Looks like both of you were calling each other son, as some sort of insult or something…? I don't understand you kids these days.

The vast majority of gun incidents and stabbings happen within gangs, it's the parents fault for not educating their child to keep away from them. I know for instance that stabbings in London is highly overstated, in that London I think is the most populated capital in Europe and so it's inevitable for these frequent occurrences.
I don't consider London particularly dangerous, as long as you stay away from the places notorious for having yobs and gangs during the evening.

These options have always been there, but I'm not sure they're sufficient to divert this type of exploit (assuming it exists/works, since people are arguing fervently that it's a hoax). The way I understand it, a WiFi device looking to join a network is doing active sensing even when it will only join preferred networks -- this pretty much must be true, since it can join a preferred hidden network, which is not itself broadcasting its availability. So the problem comes when a malevolent entity responds to the ping that the WiFi card puts out. I'm not sure just telling your computer to not join open networks would make any difference at that level. For instance, in analogy, with the BT exploit, one was not required to pair with the device propagating the virus -- just be discoverable.
Well a computer to computer network must be set up; how else can he transfer files? One card acts as the gateway and assigns ip... from what I can tell in the video
