Today was a plaid day...plaid pants that is! First and foremost flannel is a material, plaid is a design. Whew, so glad to have that confusion done with! My key item today was the plaid pant. They are gray with light purple plaid stripes. I wanted to highlight the stripes in the pants. The best way to do this is pick a shirt that matches the stripe, not the base color of the pants. When someone observes your outfit from a distance, where the shirt meets the pants, the stripes will stick out :).
I decided to throw in a different color vest altogether and went with black. Vest can be worn open or closed as shown in below pictures.
