Nice, but not essential. I usually have the patience to wait until I'm home to install an update. Unless it's an iOS update..
More important to me is over-the-air syncing. That would be a killer!
I just assumed that the two would come hand in hand though I now see why that's not necessarily the case. I agree, OTA syncing is even better but there just isnt any reason to not be able to do both.

What level of military interventions should the US take in the Republic of Congo?
What has been asked for and what we are providing is a no fly zone, which seems like the appropriate amount of military intervention.
If the people of Libya want Gaddafi out than it seems like air support keeping any heavy weapons he can buy subdued should probably be enough.

My $129 dollar investment in Leopard is going to look like even more of a steal ... :D
Considering that Windows XP was released in Windows Vista correpsonds to Jaguar+Panther+Tiger, which is 3*129=387, which is much closer to the price of Windows Vista ;-)
EDIT: And btw., as some other users noted, the $129 for Mac OS X is the price for an update..

While it can seem weird by todays standards... I think it's great to be able to critically listen to them as originally recorded to see what fantastic work and pioneers they were in the studio arena.

Well, I'm moving in a year, and while its kinda a cool idea, it just makes no sense for me to spend any sort of money when it works fine and looks good as is. I'm not a fan of wall mounts anyway.

there was a thing last week where tweetdeck's new app was pulled because it crashed constantly. most of the problems with Windows over the last 20 years have been third party apps and drivers and not the OS itself, yet MS got the blame. Apple learned a lesson from that. it took MS years to change the architecture to limit bad code from developers
Add the jailbroken iPhone hack and you've got a couple of good reasons for Apple to put on the Big Brother hat. I totally understand the frustrations and drawbacks to such a system, but apps for the most part don't totally bring the device down. A few may crash, but the phone still works and the apps get fixed.
If you like an open platform better, you have plenty of choices. Nobody's forcing you to stick with an iPhone (unless you signed a contract). I'm a geek, but I'm not geeked out to the point where I get all hot and bothered about OPEN SOURCE! Oooooooh! Yeah, Linux has been going with that for my whole lifetime and has its piddling little market share.

The new ones are ever so slightly thinner and have rounded edges like a mini. I put mine up against my partners 1st gen (in it's rather scratched case) so you could see.
I changed my mind on the packaging pic too. When the iPod's in there it's like a little glass coffin :)

My 32GB ssd ipod mini is still going strong. These things last pretty well, so even if they discontinue them, buy one on ebay or something and it might last you until something else comes along.

You guys do understand that such an agreement would be so iTunes could include tracks from the Beatles catalog in their store, NOT give them license to use their pick of songs in advertising, right?
With all due respect to the 'Fab Four', it would be pretty silly for Apple to spend a million bucks for the license to use one of their songs in order to promote the songs availability on iTunes.
Let's face it.. most of the folks who want Beatles tracks already have them.. so unless iTunes will be offering some never before released tracks (doubtful) the overall impact that this will have on Apples profits is marginal, at best.

I'd pay more for a product Made in America that is contributing to our growing economy and feeding starving, hard working Americans.
To be honest, I'm from Germany and I would never ever pay an extra cent for a product manufactured in the US. The caption "Made in the USA" just suggests "Don't buy me, I'm going to suck". All these products I bought that were made in the US were overpriced and mostly of far worse manufacturing quality than comparable products from Asia or Europe. Just my experience, not that I hate Americans or anything, I like their ideas, creativity, inspiration and stuff, but the rest is better done by other people.
